When many families go out at night during this holiday season to look at Christmas lights many times the displays were put up by IBEW brothers and sisters who live in their town.
Hello brothers and sisters. From coast to coast, from north to south, the IBEW and our partner NECA contractors donate their time, and often their money, to make everyone’s holiday just a little bit brighter. Most of the time the people in these towns have no idea that we are the ones behind the effort. We do it not only because we happen to be good at it, we do because of the pride we have in the communities in which we live.
Ask our members, and I’m sure they would even say we do it because the displays just look so dang great when they are done, and we enjoy them just as much as everybody else!
This is just one example of the “sprit of giving” that has been a part of the IBEW for as long as the 125 years we’ve been around. And it takes on many forms: food drives, clothing drives, donating presents for kids who otherwise wouldn’t have anything to open under the tree.
I hope this holiday season you get to experience the smiles for yourself and your own family…that you put on the faces of so many others in the cities and towns you call home.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!
From me, from my family, and from the entire International Staff here in Washington D.C.
