Mail Bag

The response to our website has been great and pepople from all around the country are writing in to tell us what they think. So now it is your turn, email us at MailBag@IBEWHourPower.com and tell us what you think about our new dynamic venture into telling the IBEW story.

As an electrician of 40 years it is truly gratifying to see this web site to inform the membership of the ongoing "tools of our industry"! This is a tool that has been long awaited for. Information is "THE KEY TO OUR SUCESS".  Without it is to our demize. You are doing WELL, now is the time to improve!

Fraternally Yours:

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Once again the IBEW has come through for our future success.  This website is an asset far beyond the inventiveness of it's creators.  This will now be the place where one can share and receive essential information, throughout the industry, immediately.  Communication has and will always be the key. Really  Good Job.

Dear Fellow brothers and sisters

I have been a member of Local 440 since 1980 in riverside California
I worked the trade til 1994 when I started working for the state of California in the prison system.

I now teach the inmates the basic union way...the only way....I use all the words that they are use to like gangs and their colors. Our emblem and the IBEW unity fills both needs of these inmates. We are trying to rehabilitate these young men and create good working citizens out of them.

I teach them CalOsha what the contractor needs and wants from the employee.

I teach the union history and labor laws so they know their rights as employees and where the word week-end came from.

I am so proud of being union that I want to instil into these inmates the pride of belonging to a union like ours

Thanks for letting me pull your ear and if you need some good stories about working at a prison, I'll write more.

Your sister

Dear Kenny:

In February 2002 I became a member of Local 380. While I never doubted that this career choice was the right choice, I did not anticipate the support and friendship that I would receive from my brothers in the years to come.
On May 2nd of this year, I suffered a serious leg injury while working on site at Montgomery County Community College, Blue Bell campus. Both Gary Siter and Mike Wolfgang, who were also on site, took immediate action and rushed me to the Emergency Room at Mercy Suburban Hospital. While in the emergency room, I received visits from several other brothers: Fran Clark, Joe Zeleski, Jason Shanaman, Bill McGullam, and Steve Cameron. Unfortunately, the injury would also require many doctor visits. Members Fran Clark and Tom Friel provided me with more assistance than I could ever expect. They have driven me to doctor’s appointments, spoken with my doctors and stood by my side.

While I’ve always felt that joining IBEW Local 380 was joining a family, this experience has shown me the true meaning of brotherhood that this organization represents. My thanks, gratitude and appreciation goes out to Local 380 and its members. I am proud to be a family member of Local 380.

Sincerely,

Stephen W. Malinowski

Dear Mail Bag,

I got the message in the I.B.E.W. Magazine and seeing I am not listed in the Memorial pages yet I just wanted you to know I think this Hour Power can be a great tool. I started back in November 1949 and my wife at the time commented, "I have never seen you so happy and content. You must have found your calling". I never forgot that for no truer words were ever spoken.

I have my 55 year pin mounted in a frame in my office and I am thrilled to see our standards of excellence being continued.

Yours Truly,

John W. Nessler

This site will be a great tool to get the word out to our members what it's going take

Terrific use of media. Makes me proud to be a member. Your feature story was heart touching and very professional. My friends- Curtis Murphy, the members of Local 903 and all the brothers and sisters who traveled to South Mississippi have done a tremendous job. I heard so many tragic stories in the aftermath of Katrina, yet so many IBEW and NECA members performed so well while enduring much personal loss.  I hope this tool brings great success, for it is an excellent concept in sharing the positive attributes of the IBEW. Thanks.
